RIDING ITINERARY
DAY 1
PUERTO VARAS TO LAGO RANCO
Leaving Puerto Varas we will ride towards Volcán Osorno and ride to the top to take in the view of Lago Llanquihue. After this we will ride due north along the Entre Lagos Route. Passing Lago Rupanco, Lago Puyehue, and the town of Entre Lagos. We will leave the pavement behind and ride a dirt road north. Once on the shores of Lago Ranco we will ride towards the Andes where we will be treated to some excellent riding with a lot of twisty winding road and elevation changes and constant views of the lake and mountains.
DAY 2
LAGO RANCO TO PUCÓN
The ride from Lago Ranco takes us through Lago Riñihue, Lago Panguipulli and Lago Calafquén. All these lakes offer excellent back road riding. Winding through the Entre Lagos route we will stay parallel to the Andes Mountains until we reach Lago Villarrica and the town of Pucón.
DAY 3
PUCÓN EXPLORATION (REST DAY)
Day three affords us the time to go out and explore Pucón. A wonderful destination for all things outdoors. This small mountain town is famous for Chileans and foreigners alike but offers enough activities to keep everyone busy all day long. With activities such as hiking, rafting and hot springs. We will have an excellent rest day in Pucón. Just let us know what you would like to do and we will arrange a local guide to show us the area.
DAY 4
PUCÓN TO VALDIVIA
Leaving Pucón will take us out of the mountains and across the Pan-American Hwy or Chile Ruta-5. Taking back roads the whole day we will ride towards the coastal city of Valdivia which is the capital of the Los Ríos Region of Chile. Valdivia is famous for many reasons, one is for being the most affected city by the largest earthquake ever recorded in the year 1960. Valdivia is a beautiful destination for travelers offering many summer time festivals along its famous river walk. With a strong German influence and history it is also home to many great beer breweries. Valdivia will be our stop for the night before riding the coast back south to Puerto Varas.
DAY 5
VALDIVIA TO PUERTO VARAS
Leaving Valdivia we will take a short ferry ride to Corral for our mostly dirt road ride home to Puerto Varas. Riding along the coast and then into the coastal mountains, our day will be a mix of dirt and paved back roads all the way south. We will pick up sections of our coastal one day route near Puerto Varas. This will be an excellent final day of riding and gain us access to areas of Chile no tourist will be. We often travel these roads and see one or two cars a day. This will be a wonderful end to a tour that offers access to many great destinations in Los Lagos and Los Ríos regions of Chile.
